FIT Show Voices – Leon Day
This years’ FIT Show will involve a distinctly Made in Britain theme for Universal Arches and we’ll be producing a celebratory Union Jack, that’s been fully welded and painted using PVCu profiles to promote this, in what is our 22nd year of continued business.
We will have a number of products on show with a red, white and blue theme as we look to promote the fact that we are the market leader in the bending sector by some considerable way. This is not just in terms of market share, but in the way in which we process and carefully manufacture each frame by hand with our significant experience.
While most people may consider us as a manufacturer first and foremost, we are perhaps more of a service-led business, as we serve not only many of the UK’s largest fabricators but many installation companies. Our customer service and order processing department have over 100 years between them and as a first point of contact there is no other company with such expertise at the point of query and order in the sector, an important differentiator for us.
The FIT Show for us is primarily an opportunity to present ourselves to the industry at large and to meet customers both old and new, after all we are a service led business. We will look to continue to build our brand and to develop new business opportunities at the show as we have done since the exhibition started back in 2012, when Universal Arches was indeed the first company to sign up for the show.
The fact that we have sponsored the lanyards on to which the exhibition badges are housed for the last 2 shows, has generated arguably more footfall on our stand, than on any other. We included a key with the purpose to these lanyards for visitors to attempt to open the arched Solidor composite door with the overall lucky winner drawn on the last day to win the latest generation iPad at the time.
Given that this has served us incredibly well for the last two shows, we’ll again be including a key, this time from Brisant, to every lanyard for the 2016 FIT Show with the overall lucky winner receiving a latest generation iPad as they have done in previous years. In 2013 we managed to capture 2,087 leads and along with Matthew Glover, director of the FIT Show, presented Barking Windows from London with a shinny new iPad mini.
In 2014 numbers were down, yet we captured a further 1,736 leads and presented Richard Hammond of Stedek Windows with a new iPad and we’ll be looking to surpass this number in 2016. But beyond our thirst for lead capture, the FIT Show is also about harnessing and embracing our partnerships with companies such as Solidor and Window Widgets.
We have been the only approved manufacturer of arched head Solidor composite doors, since the product was launched back in 2012 and today volumes are over 20 doors per week. Similarly back in 2012 Universal Arches was appointed as the only approved manufacturer of shaped fames for the Residence 9 system and this relationship with Window Widgets is set to be further strengthened as they look to launch new systems at the show. Rehau will also be featuring at the FIT Show, who have also been a long-term partner for us, having carried out a number of curved cable management projects in the education sector with them.
We’re looking forward to welcoming a large number of visitors to our Made in Britain themed stand in hall 1 on stand 118, where they will have the opportunity to win an iPad. But above all, we’re looking to further enhance our credentials as the experts and market leaders in the bending sector.
