The end of the 4th quarter: the end of another calendar year.  How’s it been?  Has budget been met?  Was 2015 what you expected or have you had to adapt to market and political conditions?

At Universal Arches, 2015 has been a defining year for a multitude of reasons. By the end of the calendar year I’m expecting sales to be up around 11%, which will surpass the record year we had in 2014, while foiled sales have grown rapidly. They now equate to 37% of all production, a quite incredible statistic.

The general election and other economic influences have clearly had little impact on our business, but I would suggest it might well have done elsewhere in the industry. We’ve also seen a decline in customer numbers, due to many ceasing fabrication, whilst the order intake from our largest customers has increased substantially. The implications on margins will reverberate far and wide in the industry if this trend continues.

With the FIT Show now firmly on the horizon for 2016, we’re again ready to present ourselves to the industry at large and show the importance of the bending sector within the wider glazing industry.
